Ledinsky "High Society" treatment

In short: We follow Ledinsky break the chains of urban life, go on a road trip, move into a cabin in the woods where he befriends animals and starts a band with a bear.

Script

The video's story follows the lyrics closely.

The video opens with a shot of us following a dog, walking through a house. The camera is down by the floor, same height as the dog. Things are scattered on the floor: instruments, bottles, ashtrays, t-shirts with obscure band logos, DonaldTrumpmakesmewannasmokecrack badges and pins. We get glimpses of a plaque that says ”Employee of the year” with a framed picture of Daniel with a forced smile. The dog continues on, going through the kitchen and out in the backyard by the pool, where it finds Daniel, heavily asleep and passed out. The dog starts licking his face, and wakes him up. Daniel sits up, face grimacing, obviously feeling whatever yesterday hit him with.

In front of him, on a window sill, sits a bird. The bird has a joint in it’s beak. Their eyes meet and the bird starts talking to him. Daniel listens in awe as the bird says ”Daniel, we’ve all been fooled, nothing is what it seems”. Extreme close up of the bird’s eyes, cut to extreme close up of Daniel’s eyes. The bird blows smoke in Daniel’s face. Extreme close up of Daniel’s eye: His pupils dilate wide open. We cut to wider shots in slow motion where he sings the chorus, spinning, covered in a cloud of smoke.

Cut to Daniel and his dogs leaving his home. They hop into an old van, and as they are driving away, we see large flames burst out of his open garage door. Cut to them driving out of the city, up into the mountains and the wilderness. Epic wide shots of mountains, valleys and ridges.

They arrive at a small cabin deep in the woods where it seems as time has stood still for a couple of decades.

Daniel sits on the porch, smoking and plays his guitar and sings. Animals starts gathering around him in the forest, watching him play, nodding to the beat. There’s ferrets, birds, beavers and owls.
 

They come closer and closer, until they’re all on or close by the porch. In the song’s final break, a large shadow falls on Daniel. He looks up only to see a Grizzly Bear on its hind legs, looking at him, only an arms length away. They stand still for a couple of seconds, frozen. The animals around them are still too. Then Daniel exhales smoke in the bear’s face, we cut to a close up of the bears’ eyes and the pupils dilate. 

Cut to wide shot of Daniel standing in front of the cabin playing and singing, the bear is playing drums on a drum kit made of old logs and tree stumps. The animals of the forest are banging their heads and dancing.

This performance goes on until the end of the song, cut between montage shots of Daniel biking alongside a ferret skateboarding downhill, the bear and Daniel looking out over the valley from an elevated ridge, Daniel and a very baked looking owl sharing a joint, The bear drinking a beer on the bed inside the cabin while Daniel is taking a bath in the tub next to the bed - fun gags and scenes like that.

We fade out.

Video will be shot in Los Angeles and in Big Bear, California.

Deadline & delivery

Possible and preferred shoot days Oct 3rd-7th. Edit, grade & post production will be done during the shoot and the following week Oct 10th-14th.
Preferred video delivery between Oct 17th-21st. Delivery can be rushed and made possible as early as Oct 14th if needed.

Animal suits, animatronics & puppets

All animal movement and animation is done in-camera, for real, on location. Please watch animation reel for video and images of the puppets and suits!

No post production will be added for the animal performances, cutting post production time down to a quick editing and grade session, which ensures quick delivery after the shoot is over.
